Gulf, camel beauty contests are very serious. Each year in the Emirates, the Al
Dhafra festival brings together more than 13,000 camels from all neighboring
countries.
In Mshayrif, near Abu Dhabi, each beast is combed and dressed, then subjected to a series of drug and surgery tests. A jury then designates the winning animals of the 2 million euros involved.
