Located 60
km south of Dubai, the Al Madam village was built in the 70s as
part of a government's modern housing program. It has now been abandoned, left in
the grip of the sand. Known locally as the
"buried village", the origin of its desertion remains unknown.
According to residents of neighboring towns, the Al Kutbi tribe, which once occupied Al Madam, fled in haste due to supernatural events. Even today, surprising stories and legends are told about the village.
